The Real Estate Act Envisages Achieving the Said Objectives By:
Establishing the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) for Regulation and Promotion of the Real Estate Sector

Ensuring the Sale of Plot, Apartment, or Building in an Efficient and Transparent Manner to Protect the Interest of Consumers in the Real Estate Sector
Establishing the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (REAT)
Procedure for RERA Registration of an Estate Agent
Within a time frame of 30 days, RERA authorities shall deliver the registration number along with the certificate (if the application is not rejected). If no objection, query, or rejection is received within 30 days, there is a provision for deemed registration within 7 days.
Once granted, the registration is valid for the next five years. Renewal granted will also be valid for a period of five years from the date of its renewal.
Penalty for unregistered agents involved in RERA-registered project dealings, advertising, marketing, etc., is Rs. 10,000/- per day during the period of failure, with a maximum penalty up to 5% of the value of the deal/project value.
